Summary of Position
The Sales Engineer role supports the sales team and handles all sales support of customers. The Sales Engineer is responsible for answering all technical questions
arising during the sales process, helping customers by assessing their needs, and identifying and adapting the products and services of the company for the customer.
Monitor industry trends and developments and identify revenue generating opportunities and risks to the company. Secure industry information and specific customer and competitor data for strategic planning purposes.
Maintain high level relation and rapport with key customer representatives as well as current knowledge of customer needs and future programs.
Utilize direct sales engineering skills to maximize revenue and increase growth. Apply technical and sales knowledge in direct support to customers. Must have customer relations and communication skills.
Maintain technical knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within tooling industries.
Define market expansion opportunities. Develop and execute a plan to secure the new business in the redefined market segments
Identify customer needs and technologies that would better position the company to secure additional business opportunities. Identify competitors and their means of differentiation.
Maintain complete and accurate customer records, to include contact information, tooling requirements, quote history, sourcing history, future program opportunity, assist in marketing, development of new customers, etc.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
5-10 years sales engineering experience within aerospace tooling industry. Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Proven understanding of aerospace tooling and fixtures and their applications.
· Demonstrated ability to carry a productive discussion with customer engineering personnel. Ability to travel up to 50%
This job operates in a clerical, office, as well as a factory setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to odors, fumes, dust or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Proper PPE will be provided.
