Mission:
  • The resident engineer works at a customer facility interfacing with their hardware, software, systems engineering, and project management teams to represent Company as a primary interface to its project development team.
  • Collects data on customer target application and relays back to development team after analyzing, tests system performance in target vehicle in coordination with customer.
  • Builds customer intimacy in order to create opportunities to expand the business with Customer

 

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the definition of the Mechatronic /System / Hardware / Software requirements
  • Supports customer system Reviews (i.e. HMI, Fascia interface, CAN, wiring harness, etc.) and internal design reviews
  • Support vehicle build process and vehicle signoff activities for all prototypes and manufacturing builds.
  • Maintain a file on site of schematics, circuit board layouts, source code, S/W algorithms, DFMEAs, specifications, to assist in the problem solving process and the application of corrective actions.
  • Responsible for Packaging of released components. Requires coordination between supplier and customer or intermediate supplier
  • Supports Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) activities
  • Supports system DFMEA/SFMEA process
  • Ensure timely coordination and closure of all customers development phases
  • Facilitate data transfer into Customer’s system
  • Lead root cause analysis and resolution on defined anomalies, especially related to vehicle performance issues
  • Support assembly plant or Tier 1 build events and development events
  • Update vehicles with latest production intent components
  • Assist with the resolution of requirement /components or system issues
  • Supports bench and other development activities
  • Support assembly plant problem resolution process
  • Report the customer voice when communicating within Company
  • Monitor the evolution of the customer milestones and report accordingly
  • Coordinate necessary communication meetings between Company and Customer and any other intermediate suppliers
  • Identify, report and facilitate the processing of change requests
  • Develop problem resolution action plans for subsystem/component issues

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Engineering
  • 2 years of engineering experience in automobile industry
  • Experience with Vector CAN tools
  • Fluent communication (written and spoken) in English
  • German is a plus
  • Ability to travel to meetings (Europe, US)
  • Ability to work in dynamic working environment
  • Experience in Automotive industry is a plus
  • Ability to work in globally distributed project team
  • Organizational skills, Initiative and communication skills, self-motivated
