Advanced Purchasing Manager

Direct involvement and coordination in Cost Estimations of Buy Parts of projects of the plant. Once project is assigned to the plant, the AP Manager is responsible to support the AP Buyers as facilitator and as a means of escalation when required. Responsible to monitor the AP Buyers to secure a safe Launch and profitability of projects. To monitor and analyse the work load in their area and balance the capacity among their Team. Responsible to lead, coordinate and develop the Team of Advance Purchasing within their perimeter. Accomplishment of timing, quality and profitability of the Project is primary task.

Responsibilities:
  • To ensure the observance and application of MM Sourcing procedures within the development of the new projects.
  • Responsible of the observance and application of the Quality Standards, by the Advance Purchasing Teams during the process of development of the projects, with the support of the SDE Community.
  • Responsible for the fulfilment of Advance Purchasing KPI’ s (Project Purchasing Performance Index, Productivity Roadmap, Tooling Saving, Localization, etc.).
  • Develop talent and staffing for all Advance Purchasing positions within their perimeter.
  • Responsible to prepare, follow and apply training plan for AP of their plant with support of PUR Regional Manager.
  • Promote and secure strong cooperation of Advance Purchasing with SDE/SQA, PUR PTC’ s, Family Buyers and Capex Buyers at the Plants as well as with Commodity Specialists.
  • Ensure standardization of processes and good practices within the plant.
  • Support and supervise Cost Estimation of Buy Parts related to RQA of projects in their plant.
  • Ensure that AP Buyers of their perimeter are trained and systematically use PPC to monitor their projects and to calculate the cost of their components / Tools during offer phase.
  • Participate and propose cost improvement ideas during concept release, transversalizing good practices in their perimeter.
  • Support the concept review with R&D, Sales, ID, Quality, and Finance to meet the Costs and Performances for the critical projects.
  • Support as means of escalation the Make or Buy Strategies.
  • To promote the correct use of Simultaneous Engineering in their region.
  • Supervise the effective Sourcing process of components.
  • Bring cost awareness to R&D and ID about materials and product concept (Design to Cost).
  • Monitor sourcing and status of means of production related to the project of their area (Tools, Assembly Line).
  • Propose and implement VAVE initiatives to the new projects
  • Participation in PCC Meetings of the plants of their perimeter.
  • Secure proper preparation and participation to Pre-initiative and Initiative meetings.

 

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’ s degree in engineering or related discipline.  MBA is preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in Advanced Purchasing or similar experience
  • Must have managerial experience.
  • Technical and Purchasing experience in Automotive
